Mullite

Mullite, mullite refractory material is low cost refractory material with a nominal composition of 3Al2O3•2SiO2. It is easily obtainable in any volume and at reasonably prices. Mullite has excellent temperature properties with improved thermal shock and thermal stress. Whatever be the temperature, mullite owes low thermal expansion, good strength and interlocking grain structure. The mullite refractory material is widely used in protection tubes, furnace liners, electrical insulators etc. Mullite refractory material is used in applications like refractories for glass and steel industries, kiln furniture, shell building materials in investment casting, spark plug bodies etc.
